Introducing TEXRail, a groundbreaking 27-mile commuter rail line that connects downtown Fort Worth to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. With STADLER’s FLIRT (Fast Light Intercity- and Regional Train) model trains, TEXRail is the very first of its kind to be put into operation for public transport in the USA.
The TEXRail trains embody the perfect blend of practicality and style. The meticulous design of every aspect of these trains carefully considers the end user. TEXRail not only showcases a sleek and modern exterior that perfectly reflects the Trinity Metro brand but also features a thoughtfully designed interior that prioritizes passenger comfort.

Every detail of the TEXRail interior, from the spacious seating to the ample room for luggage, strollers, and bikes, has been thoughtfully crafted to maximize the passenger experience. Whether you need a workspace on the go or a place to relax, the interior design, with its 224 seats, including side tables and USB ports, caters to the diverse needs of commuters. Additionally, the ADA-compliant toilet guarantees accessibility and inclusivity for all passengers.
The interior design concept revolves around the seamless integration of modern colors, materials, and finishes (CMF). Every aspect of the interior has been carefully curated to reflect the Trinity Metro brand while staying true to the essence of Texas. The predominantly blue colors adorning the seats serve as a cool counterbalance to the hot Texan sun, creating an ambiance of relaxation and tranquility. Moreover, the seat pattern design pays tribute to the iconic Texas state flower, the Bluebonnet. Thus, the meticulously crafted pattern celebrates the natural beauty of the Lone Star State.
Every aspect, from the color selection of the exterior paint job to the graphic elements, has been thoughtfully considered to create a cohesive and visually captivating design. The exterior paint job creates a seamless integration with the existing fleet of buses, imparting a sense of unity across the entire Trinity Metro brand.
Another key aspect was to ensure compliance with US-specific requirements to ensure the utmost safety and compatibility of the European train design. Therefore, the front cabin has been expertly redesigned to meet all US safety regulations, including coupling height and crash specifications. While carefully aligning with these requirements, this redesign retains the distinctive and eye-catching Stadler FLIRT-specific look.
