4 Portable Toilets in the Island Setup

PORTABLE TOILET

FACELIFT FOR THE OUTDATED PORT-A-POTTY

Step into the future of portable toilets with our innovative design concept: a facelift for the outdated port-a-potty. Through meticulous attention to design, we have created a portable toilet concept that not only exudes confidence and elegance but also offers new functionality to enhance user experience.

From the inside out, the updates are remarkable. The exterior shape mirrors the functionally and ergonomically improved interior layout, creating a seamless experience. The exterior design not only presents new possibilities for optimized toilet setups but also provides dedicated areas for advertising. However, the most exceptional feature is that the cabin is collapsible, reducing the height by half with a simple slide, thus increasing transport and storage capacity compared to current solutions. Doubling the number of toilets for transportation and storage positively impacts efficiency and convenience.

TRANSFORMING SPACE WITH INTELLIGENT DESIGN SOLUTIONS

At WAEGLI DESIGN, we believe that every inch of space should be optimized to create extraordinary user experiences. With this concept design, we aim to transform a tight space within the portable toilet, turning limitations into innovation. The result is a interior design that harmoniously distinguishes each element while maximizing functionality.

Inside the toilet, each element is positioned strategically, emphasizing the distinction between the toilet areas and the sink element while maximizing every inch of the compact space available. Our innovative approach incorporated rounded corners, including a large radius door, to create a visually expansive effect, making the small interior appear remarkably more spacious and inviting. To further optimize the space, we arranged the lavatory elements on a diagonal. This design choice enables us to create the optimal distance between each component. Departing from the conventional side-by-side arrangement found in common port-a-potties, the intentional placement of the urinal in the opposite corner from the sink element eliminates any potential confusion.

A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON PORT-A-POTTIES

With the strategic placement of the door in a diagonal alignment, we have not only optimized the interior layout but also unlocked a realm of new arrangement possibilities. This crucial design element unlocks new configurations that were previously unexplored. One such arrangement is the toilet island concept, where the absence of a side-by-side door maximizes privacy for users. Additionally, the row setup configuration adds a dynamic touch, breaking away from the mundane wall of toilets found in traditional port-a-potties.

To develop this new and improved interior layout, we meticulously developed 1:1 prototypes. Beginning with detailed floor layouts, we progressed to simple cardboard mockups, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the available space within the portable toilet. This iterative process granted us invaluable insights into the user experience, enabling us to optimize every inch of the interior.
